CNC Backups: Protect Your CNC Machine and Production Time
Protect your production with this quick guide on CNC backups for Fagor 8060, 8065, and 8070 controls. Prevent downtime and data loss today.
Regular CNC backups are the simplest way to prevent major downtime and costly data loss. Whether you are updating parameters or performing routine maintenance, a current backup ensures you can restore your machine accurately. In the YouTube tutorial video by Mohit Gambhir from Fagor Automation, two primary methods are explained in detail for backing up Fagor 8060, 8065, and 8070 controllers.
Method 1: The “Report Fagor” Quick Backup
This method generates a single zipped file containing machine parameters, user programs, and a “black box” log file of the control’s history.
Method 2: The Full Utility Backup
For a more comprehensive backup including individual files for all system data:
- Press the Emergency Stop and clear any messages [01:25].
- Press the Utilities key to open the Explorer window [01:38].
- Create a new directory (e.g., “Backup 2020”) within the Public folder [01:55].
- Select the + icon from the bottom menu and choose Backup [02:33].
- Ensure all relevant data fields are check-marked and click OK [02:57].
- Once complete, the CNC will prompt an application restart [03:31].
