This 2014 Diversified Machine Systems (DMS) 5-Axis Router is a high-performance, large-format machining center engineered for deep-cavity work and complex geometries. Featuring an upgraded 48-inch Z-axis stroke with heavy-duty 45mm rails, this moving-table machine offers exceptional rigidity for a platform of its size. Powered by a high-torque 24 HP HSD liquid-cooled spindle and the sophisticated Fagor 8065 Control, it is “Ready-to-Work” for aerospace, automotive tooling, or advanced composite applications requiring aggressive material removal and precision finishing.

Work Envelope

  • X-Axis (Table): 72″ Travel (120″ x 60″ Working Surface)
  • Y-Axis (Bridge): 132″ Travel
  • Z-Axis (Vertical): 48″ Upgraded Stroke (provides critical clearance for tall fixtures and deep-draw molds)
  • Table Construction: 1.5″ thick 6061 T6 machined aluminum plate with integrated vacuum grid.
  • Hold Down: Two 5′ x 5′ vacuum zones with automatic 2″ valves and 3/8″ threadserts on 12″ centers.

Spindle & Tooling

Motion & Control

  • CNC Controller: Fagor 8065 with 15″ LCD. Features RTCP (Tool Center Point Programming) for seamless 5-axis synchronization and High-Speed Machining (HSC) look-ahead.
  • Drive System: Fagor Sercos Digital Drive System with AC Servomotors.
  • B & C Axes: B-Axis (+/- 110°); C-Axis (+/- 363°). Both utilize high-reduction gear heads for maximum torque and positioning accuracy.
  • Feed Rates: Rapid rates up to 1,800 IPM; X/Y cutting up to 1,200 IPM.

Integrated Systems

  • Lubrication: Factory-installed Auto Lube system servicing runner blocks and ball nuts on X, Y, and Z axes to ensure longevity.
  • Cooling: Dedicated chiller for spindle thermal management and A/C unit for the electrical cabinet.
  • Construction: Stress-relieved fabricated steel base with 35mm (X/Y) and upgraded 45mm (Z) profiled linear ways.

Utilities & Facility Requirements

  • Electrical: 480V, 3-Phase, 60Hz @ 50 Amps (Machine only). The electrical cabinet is equipped with a dedicated A/C unit to maintain optimal operating temperatures for the Fagor drive system.
  • Pneumatics: 5 CFM @ 95 PSI. Critical Note: Clean, dry, and regulated air is mandatory for the pneumatic tool release mechanism to ensure consistent HSK 63F taper engagement.
  • Dust Collection: Requires external extraction system (not included); CFM requirements vary by application.
  • Data/Comm: Ethernet (TCP/IP Protocol) and USB interfaces for high-speed G-Code transfer and remote diagnostics.
